Escape the bustle of urban life on the 42km Great Western Greenway, the longest off-road walking and cycling trail in Ireland. The World Class Great Western Greenway is a traffic free cycling and walking trail which follows the route of the renowned Westport to Achill railway which closed in 1937.
Lots to see and do along the way including bicycle hire.
Cycle routes
From the bottom of the Drive take a right and then first turn on your Left. This road will take you around the Knockma Hill, keep turning left to couplet the 10km cycle.
We also recommend a cycle to the Friary Of Ross Errilly. 28km round trip.
Cycle to Greenfield, Lough Corrib 42 km round trip.
